Who is responsible
Royal Mint of Malta Ltd. (company registration number C 109533), a company registered in Malta, is the data controller for the information described on this page.

What we collect
This website is a catalogue, not a shop. There is no account to create, no cart and no payment, so the only information we receive is what you choose to send through the enquiry form:
- Your name and email address, which are required so we can reply.
- Your phone number and the quantity you are interested in, if you choose to give them.
- The products you selected and any message you write.
- Your IP address. It limits how many enquiries can be sent from one connection in a ten-minute window, so the form cannot be abused for spam. Where the network in front of this site tells us the country you are connecting from, it is also used to open the site in the language more likely to be yours. It is not used for anything else.
Why we use it
We use your enquiry details for one purpose: to answer you and to discuss the products you asked about. Where you ask about a particular product, our legal basis is that we are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Where the enquiry is a general one, it is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
We do not profile you, we do not build advertising audiences, and we will not add you to a marketing list on the strength of an enquiry.
Cookies
This website sets one cookie, named NEXT_LOCALE. It records whether you are reading the site in English or Maltese so your choice survives from page to page. It is a first-party cookie, it holds nothing but a language code, and it is not read by anyone else.
There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel and no third-party cookie on this site. Because a language-preference cookie is strictly necessary to provide the site in the language you asked for, it is exempt from consent requirements – which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a cookie banner.
If we ever add analytics or any other non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Resend – delivers the enquiry form as an email to our inbox.
- MS-Link – provides the server this website runs on, where short-lived request logs are kept, and hosts the mailbox your enquiry is delivered to.
Resend is a service of Plus Five Five, Inc., based in San Francisco, so sending your enquiry transfers these details outside the European Economic Area. That transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which form part of our data processing agreement with Resend, and by Resend's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Ask us and we will send you a copy of the agreement.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails stay in our mailbox for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any relationship that follows from it, and no longer than 24 months. The rate-limiting record that contains your IP address expires automatically after ten minutes.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it, or ask us to hand it over in a portable form. Write to sales@royalmint.mt and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Maltese supervisory authority, the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt).
